About Backlogik
Backlogik is a free web application that helps players organize and conquer their video game backlog. The purpose of Backlogik is to let you track games you own, are playing, have completed, dropped, or want to buy; build collections; write reviews; follow other players; and discover new titles — all in one place.
Most players do not lack games. They lack a calm system for deciding what to play next. Wishlists live in one launcher, screenshots in another, recommendations in Discord or social media, and “I’ll finish that someday” lives only in memory. Backlogik turns that scatter into a structured library with statuses, shelves (collections), ratings, and a Discover catalog you can browse without signing in.
Powered by IGDB
Backlogik is powered by IGDB (igdb.com). Game titles, covers, release dates, platforms, and related catalog metadata in Discover and on game pages come from the IGDB database. Backlogik adds your library statuses, collections, reviews, and social features on top of that public game data.
Who Backlogik is for
Backlogik is for anyone who owns more games than they can finish in a season — or who wants a clearer wishlist before buying more. Typical users include:
- Players with large digital libraries (Steam, Xbox, GOG, and others) who forget what they already own.
- Collectors who want thematic shelves: short games, co-op, story RPGs, remasters, “with friends”.
- People who bounce between platforms and want one overview of play state.
- Players who enjoy light community features: public profiles, follows, and shared lists.
What you can do without signing in
You can open this site and browse public pages such as Home, Discover (game catalog), featured collections, and public profiles without creating an account. No login wall blocks reading about Backlogik or exploring the catalog. That matters for transparency: visitors and reviewers can understand the product before creating an account.
What an account is for
Sign in (email/password or optional Google Sign-In) when you want to save a personal library, statuses, collections, reviews, follows, and store integrations. Your account is the place where Backlogik remembers your progress and preferences across devices.
Google Sign-In is used only to authenticate your Backlogik account (name, email, profile photo). Backlogik does not use Google APIs to access Gmail, Drive, or other Google products, and does not use Google APIs for AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery (AI NCII). Details are in the Privacy policy.
Core features

How Backlogik thinks about a “backlog”
A backlog is the set of games you own or firmly plan to play but have not finished yet. It is different from a store wishlist (optimized for purchase) and different from a raw ownership list (which does not say whether you are actually playing). Backlogik encourages honest statuses: keep “Playing” short, use backlog for owned unfinished games, wishlist for not-yet-owned interest, and “Dropped” when you stop on purpose. That honesty makes filters and “what next?” decisions useful.
Discover, Home, and public pages
Home is the landing experience with curated highlights. Discover is the catalog browser. Collections and public profiles show community and personal shelves when visibility allows. Library, timeline, and other personal tools require sign-in so crawlers and casual visitors still see editorial and product pages such as About, Guides, FAQ, Privacy, and Terms.
Guides and FAQ
For step-by-step product help, read the Backlogik guides (organizing a backlog, statuses, Discover, collections, reviews, sign-in, and store connections) and the FAQ.
Advertising and VIP
Backlogik may display advertisements for non-VIP users when advertising is enabled and applicable consent rules are met. VIP is optional and may remove ads or unlock extras depending on the current plan. Product access to core backlog tracking is not sold as a paywall for browsing public pages.
Data and responsibility
Catalog metadata is powered by IGDB and can be incomplete or change over time. Your statuses, reviews, and collections are your content inside Backlogik. We take privacy seriously: see Privacy, Terms, and Cookies for how data, cookies, and acceptable use work.
